The A’s to your Q’s
As a quick subscriber bonus (and to test out my email settings), I figured I’d share some of the common question that I’ve been asked over the last 6 weeks.
Q: Are you going to sell your house?
A: I am going to keep our house as it’s exactly what I want and it’s a place that we both loved. I essentially live upstairs, work downstairs and have room for visitors when they are here. The thought of moving makes my head (and heart) hurt.
Q: How are the dogs?
A: Penny and Chewie are very bonded to each other, so as long as they have each other, they seem to weather any changes. I have no doubt that if Obie were to walk through that door, they would go crazy in greeting him. There are times when they feel a bit more clingy than normal, but that seems to come and go, especially with Penny. There are some nights where she has to be touching me ALL.NIGHT.LONG. But I’ll sacrifice a bit of sleep to give her that comfort.
Q: How are you doing?
A: I get this question so often and it’s one of the hardest to answer, I think I’m doing ok but each day is a new adventure. I still cry every day and the grief seems to hit in waves. But the gaping hole of his loss, while still there, seems to softening a bit around the edges. There are days (like today) where my brain feels like it is in a fog.
Q: What about all the “toys”?
A: We have quite a collection of toys, here’s a run down:
Sea Ray (boat): I will keep this boat and the slip at the yacht club as we’d already set it up so that Tyler and Emily have access. We use this boat extensively during the summer in Chelan so I can’t imagine not keeping it.
Boston Whaler (boat): I will be selling this boat as it was something that we did together and it’s not something that I can use by myself. We really only used it once a year and I’ll always remember the amazing times that we had together with friends.
Cedar Creek (5th Wheel): We just bought our dream RV last fall, we were so excited to use it for extended periods of time in our favorite places.
Golf Cart: I’m also going to keep this as it is fun to use around the neighborhood and to take the kids to the pool. I have found a new home for the golf cart trailer as there’s no way I’ll use it, in actuality, it should be renamed the Elk Camp trailer as that’s the only time it came out of storage. On that note, if anyone wants any hunting/camping supplies, I have an entire storage unit that will need a new home.
Let me know if you have any other questions that you’d add to this list!
